Contacts or Favorite Shortcut?

Is there a way to save a provider to a contact or favorite list within the app? A similar question/reply mentioned a notepad which I don't have browsing from an iPad. Saving as a browser bookmark is a bit risky for my situation.

If you go to your user control panel you can add them to your buddy list.
