Hang out?

I will be back in town next week and haven't really been out on the town for years now (homebody). When i used to live here the places to go were atrium, tejano rodeo, and grand central station (that was twelve years ago). Where are some good spots to hang out at now that is mostly fight/drama free? Clubs, bars, karaoke... Any suggestions are appreciated.
