Hobby related apps for the cell phone?

I've heard that there are some hobby related apps for the smart phones.
Apparently they work a bit like Uber (They both involve arranging a ride, lol) Has anyone successfully used one? What is the verdict?

I used to use BP cruiser to browse ads till those dicks took out the adult section.
