If spending money is freedom of speech...

If spending money is considered freedom of speech and is a Constitutionally protected right, then why are we prohibited from legally buying blowjobs?
Shouldn't we be able to spend our money how we want to spend it?

Conservatives say no. They say there are limits on that right, and that for the good of society blowjobs must remain illegal to purchase.

What about billionaires buying elections?

Conservatives say yes. That's an unlimited right.

Conservatives are assholes.

Would like to try to show us where conservatives have done what you said? It seems to me that it is the left through the feminists who try to stamp out the hobby. It was a democratic governor in Kansas that tried to rid us of titty bars and the same in Missouri.

Is this what you were dreading COG?

As to your question: history is happening right now. Conservative billionaire donor Sheldon Adelson is shelling out big bucks (allowed by the conservatives on the Supreme Court due to Citizens United v. FEC, McCutcheon v. FEC, and possibly Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc.) so that Internet gambling is not legalized. He's on a spending spree buying off conservative politicians. His "free speech" to donate money anonymously is now unlimited. Your "free speech" to place a bet on the Internet is prohibited. He can spend his money how he wants. You, on the other hand, can only spend your money how he wants.

As far as stripclubs go, Phillip Cosby of the American Family Action of Kansas and Missouri is the conservative who wrote and pushed for the change in stripclub laws. Blaming the governor is a copout and you know it. If you're going to blame everything that the state legislature did during those governor's terms, then can I give the governors credit for everything good that happened in their states during those years? Didn't think so.

Thats right, LonerMonkey, liberal Democrats get elected with hope, change and just a dash of pixie dust.

Remember, there is nothing worse than a boorish political discussion. So form your words and at least be interesting.

While Obama certainly had people rallying around hope, I'm going to say that it's the Republicans who have really cashed in on that noun.

I'll concede your point, Captain. BOTH major parties are bullshit. R's want to control sexuality while the D's want to control just about everything else. F them both, vote Libertarian.

Just don't rant about "money in politics" as the reason things don't go your way, right President Romney?

Satire warning: I disagree with you politically, which means I must destroy you. For instance, the CEO of Mozilla, who held the same belief about marriage as President Obama, has to resign. If only that held true for the second party in that last sentence. At least I get the feeling Joe Biden actually likes the US.

The opening post used the term conservative, not republican. I will concede that republicans may do some questionable things when it comes to personal liberty but real conservatives (not someone who says they are to get elected) don't care about your titty bar, your regular bar, or even the sex trade unless they impose themselves on people who don't' want them. A true liberal (not a progressive/neo-socialist liberal probably thinks along the same lines).

Yeah its not legal-whatever the hell that means. An experienced hobbyist could see a reputable provider quicker than pizza delivery. This hobby has been around sense the dawn of man. No government can stop it.

If we didn't have so much government, people wouldn't need to try to buy congressmen, right?
