What would you have like to known when you started hobbying?

As a lurker who is just making his plunge into the hobbying world, there is a whole lot of info to learn as well as many valuable pieces of advice to heed as I read through the board.

Senior members: What one piece of information would you have liked to known on your first experience?

Looking forward to gain some wisdom here!

Much Thanks,

DPF
I would have screened the girls instead of just going on what their picture looked like.

Read all of their reviews; find out how they treat us, what others say they really look like, try to get a feeling for what she is like.

I accepted mediocrity when I didn't have to.
My best advice is for your first appointment, make sure you see an established, truly independent provider who you will feel very comfortable with on a personal level. She should ideally be a lady who has a lot of experience with newbies and is happy to go out of her way to talk to you a bit before the appointment and make sure you are comfortable. Your first appointment is not the time to go for the hottest, youngest, provider you can find imo... if they have no idea what they are doing with newbies, this can lead to a very awkward experience.

Take your time deciding who to see and just go in with the expectation to have some relaxing fun with a cool, attractive lady. Be on time, super nice, and freshly showered and you should be good. You will never forget your first provider experience, so make sure it is with a lady you expect to genuinely like on a personal level imo. GL!

Oh, and spend the extra $20 to buy premium access... it will help you tremendously in your research and show providers you are serious about hobbying.

^^^ Yep!
Find a true pro who'll walk you through it, not one of the here today gone tomorrow teeny-boppers.
Be clean, polite, have the correct donation and just relax; remember, she's just a lady and you're just a guy doing what comes naturally.
Take a bottle of wine, be yourself and have fun...don't build it up and psych yourself out!

1). Remember at the end of the day, you are an ATM. Even if in a long standing SB type relationship you need to remain cognizant of that fact. Don't fall for every "I need help"...cause she is laying that line on another 5-10 guys at the same time. Keep to the agreement, and NEVER pay too far in advance. (Sorry girls, but this next part is true). They always think like a Hoogar & want to exit the agreement on top-which doesn't mean even...always keep a card in your pocket to play should she decide to try and fuck you over...you might hurt ones feelings when you cut her off, but she'll realize she has a great deal...or not...and if not, you are better off. There is ALWAYS a new girl every day or two...supply will not dry up. Its show business, not show friends...that does NOT mean you can't have a very nice relationship, you can. Just never ever forget you are the customer can choose to pay or walk away.

2). I learned more about the ATX scene from the girls than the guys (my first hobby experience was actually legal, in Nevada...I agree your first couple of experiences should be with established providers who can put you at ease. After a few times, you'll be capable of hitting the door with an erection, but at first there will be jitters. Feel free to IM me and I'll tell you who my first ATX girl was & I would still recommend her for a newbie.

3). Keep your wits about you...I NEVER go into the water first. That's for the more daring. I'll wait to see what some of the spelunkers (first time guys) say & then plan accordingly.

4). LISTEN to your hobby brothers...they will keep you from making mistakes & sometimes will put you onto a great girl who is just right for your unique desires.

Winning lottery numbers so I had a bigger hobby budget!

Seriously guys, you too Toyz, lighten up a bit. That was soooo serious and bordering on maudlin I've never seen y'all get sentimental like that!

For the OP, they give good advice, but just remember, you WILL have bad experiences so just shake them off and keep on hobbyin'!

I wish I'd known there was a PMS .... just kidding ...

I remember very well when I jumped in on my first experience, and I agree you will never forget your first provider experience, so make it a good one.

Honestly there was nothing I wish I would have known before I met her, because she answered ALL my questions. Ask questions, there is no dumb question.

What I wish I would have known in general: how addictive this can get after your first FUNtastic experience.

Pick a well known, well respected, drama free provider, who is experienced with NEWBIEs, that will ease your nerves and she will take good care of you, no worries.

If you are apprehensive about the first time or naturally reserved, tell her that ahead of time and that you want her to take charge and rock your world. Even before that, get advice here on ladies that best fit your desires.

Other advice:
1. Pay for premium access and do your research on ladies you want to see.
2. If the first visit was good, repeat visits are almost always better!
3. If you're worried about anyone doing an internet search and finding your posts (even premium areas) don't use a handle that is descriptive or unique. If you use DrPepperFan anywhere else don't use it here.
4. If you get a bad feeling about a location or lady, it's never too late to back out - turn around, don't drown.
5. There is no such thing as having too much fun!

Hmm...

1. It can be addictive
2. It ain't "Pretty Women"
3. Get a hobby phone before you make one call or text
4. If it looks TGTBT, then you will be disappointed
5. The likelihood that you have the biggest member she has ever seen or that you are the only guy that can make her have the "big O", is pretty slim.... business 101-give the customer what they want.

I wouldve like to know about eccie also agree with happybanana it is addictive!
Treat all the ladies with respect, smile and have a good time, let the ladies know what makes YOU happy, and when the session concludes, leave promptly without having to be shown the door.

Starting out, stick with Local ATX providers who will be here next week for a reference and who are also looking for repeat business from a newcumer. Yes, there are some exceptional Ladies visiting from out of town, butt they are often a flash in the pan, here today, gone tomorrow, returning--well who knows when. "Keep Austin Weird" applies equally to the eccie hobby world. Once you are established, then jump on the visiting provider who happens to strike your fancy, but only if she is well-reviewed by ATX guys who you trust.

Finally, if you always let the ladies know that you appreciated your time together through courtesy and good manners, you will be at the top of their lists for repeat visits. Repeat sessions mostly get better each time as YOU and the provider become more comfortable with each other and learn what makes you both happy.

3. Exercise common sense; hygiene in check, have some manners about you, and be respectful.

4. As in the real world 'NO' means 'NO'.

5. Keep your own counsel. Most folks talk too damn much about things that either they know nothing about or about things they shouldn't. Discretion is your friend in the hobby world.

6. NEVER give out any information that you don't want either kept or passed around. NEVER.

7. As lovely as they are, NEVER trust any provider who says they don't keep any records whatsoever. In all my time in the hobby (early ASPD days), I've never found that to hold water. Refer back to number 6 above.

8. If you write a review, be factual, be fair, and have the balls to tell it like it was if it was not a good experience. Don't be swayed by those who tend to swoop in and slam first time reviewers who post a 'No' recommendation.

9. Don't take it personal. The hobby is all about discretion. If you see a provider out in the real world - you don't know her, she doesn't know you. Remember that.
