Are Credit Cards A Stupid Idea?

Let me say first that I'm sure it's possible for someone to swipe a card and keep the number to swipe again later. I wouldn't consider seeing anyone that isn't well reviewed and has plenty of history here so I'd feel safe that wouldn't happen.

I understand the basic reasons why credit cards COULD be a bad idea - like if you're married and have someone who has access to them or the risk of having the number stolen. I get that. Is there something I'm not considering and are credit cards widely accepted?

I do not accept credit cards for a few reasons...

I have heard of providers accepting the card, then the client leaves and later disputes the charge and ends up with a free session.

Also, if you are thinking of paying with a gift card I would be careful with that too.

Over the years I have seen alerts of providers saying they will accept certain gift cards for donation, then while you are not looking they switch it out with an identical empty one.. so when they call to check it, it say the balance is "0"... they say you tried to rip them off, meanwhile they just got a free gift card and didn't have to finish the appointment.

I am not by any means saying all providers/clients do this, just make sure you know who you are seeing is trustworthy.

I have just heard of too many scams in those gift card or credit card type situations for me to ever feel comfortable with it.. plus I don't like the idea of my donation exchanges being documented anywhere.
bad idea, got it. thanks, you two.
Honestly, I wouldn't recommend using a CC for all of the reasons already given. However, there are some providers who do accept CC's, so if that is something you feel comfortable doing, there are some ladies out there who can accommodate you. I can't think of any ladies off the top of my head who do, but I'm sure I remember a thread just a few months ago on this topic, and remember a few providers saying they do accept them. I think it was in ISO, so do a search if you want to.

Even if the provider is legit and does not intend on over charging you or stealing your CC number there is still the little fact of having to show your ID with your real name. Not sure about the rest of the people here, but I never use my real name or number and I do not intend on ever changing that. Just some food for thought.
I've received Visa gift cards as payment. As long as they know I'm going to check the number out in front of them.

Might kill the mood for a minute, but I won't be ripped off.
