Does Money Never Sleep?

Anyone seen the new Wall Street movie?

Or we could just discuss the philosophy of green. Or greed. Or whatever works for this group!

Obviously, the people who take money must be the greedy ones. The people giving money are the chumps.

Haven't seen it. Don't intend to until it is on cable. Heard it is good (compared to a lot of the crap out there) but not close to the original.

The original is one of my favorite movies. I'm kind of afraid to see the new one, for fear I might throw my popcorn at the screen (sequels tend to be disappointing). And I hate to waste good popcorn.

Greed is good. One of the best movie lines in a long time. Looking forward to seeing it.

They should do a back-to-back showing with Michael Moore's latest...just for kicks. At any rate, I like Michael Douglas-The Game and the original Wallstreet, great flicks.

I cannot believe that you haven't seen the film, yet. I looked at a few of the trailers last night. Don't really have an opinion about the film one way or the other. Sometimes sequels are alright.

In that case, might I suggest some Milk Duds for your viewing of Star Wars 3D? The thing that should not be.

Haven't seen Wall Street and probably won't until it's on Netflix. I'm going to side step the philosophical debate of the virtues or vices of greed though.

It's an Oliver Stone flick - that's Michael Moore lite. Pass!

Just saw it tonight. The first one was better. It was okay. Expected more of the cut-throat trading and scheming type of stuff but that was lacking. Decent story and some cameos from a few people from the first film.

Funny thing is it was playing on 2 screens. We went to a late afternoon show and the movie time on the ticket was for the 10 am show. The ticket taker told us go left, so we did and went to the theater number on the ticket. We walked in expecting previews but the movie was already on. Thought it was odd but maybe we had the wrong time. The fire alarm went off during the movie and the lights came up. Turned out to be a false alarm. The 2+ hour movie ended at an hour and a half and we figured we must have been in the wrong theater. Talked to the guys up front and we should have gone right to a different numbered theater so we stayed for the next showing to see the first 35 minutes that we missed and then left. Things made more sense after that.

I saw it today mainly because I like Michael Douglas and he may not have to many movies left. Eli Wallach is getting up in age and he was very good. Liked the girl who played the daughter but her boyfriend drives me nuts. He looks like he's about to cry no matter what the mood is supposed to be.
Didn't find it nearly as objectionable politically as I thought before I saw it. Stone's idea that the govt is all knowing, all powerful and can fix anything came thru but the story could have been a lot worse.

JB, Big Business is no better or worse than Big Government. They both can do tremendous good or harm. That is why to big to fail is an object failure and that stems from big business. That is why you need a free press. We also need to limit corporate cash in politics.

If you like Michael Douglas check out Solitary Man, reminds me of some of the people you have spoken of that have let the hobby consume them.
