USS Omaha CL4 Light Cruiser

Something for Memorial Day:
The Light Cruiser “Omaha” capturing the German blockade runner “Odenwald” the first week of November 1941 (before Pearl Harbor). And another pic. Built just after World War One, and retired just after World War Two. She also had two kills during WWII, and participated in the bombardment of German fortifications in southern France the fourth week of August of 1944, which assisted with the capture of the port in Toulon by French forces at the end of August. Interestingly, the capture of the Odenwald was the last time the US Navy awarded prize money to a US warship crew.
