In search of an opinion or different perspective on booking providers during rate changes:
(Her name does not matter, so don't ask. And If you recognize this, please do not out her here - that is not the point of this post.)
On Monday I contacted a provider asking to see her for HH or BNG that day. She was young and new to the area. I read all her reviews, checked out her rates, and looked at all her pics. I wanted to see her pretty badly! (still do!) She replied. "I cant do anything until i hear back from your references. its 100 and my HH is 250". So I sent her my refs.
Tuesday morning she replied that she had heard back from my refs and that she would love to see me. I replied back asking when I could come over for BNG and didn't get a reply until noon, asking "how about 130?" I asked if I could head early because I had some time constraints. I knew her area so I headed over early. While heading over she texted me saying that I can head over whenever but she cant see me until 130. She gave me her number and address and said "Also my BNG is 150, I just updated my showcase to reflect that." :O
I didn't know what to d,. Had I known it was 150 earlier on, I would have looked for a larger opening in my schedule and just dropped the extra hundo to get a half hour or do the full hour.I didnt think that was fair, given the timing. I understand that prices rise with demand, and she is a premium hottie, so I understand the raise. Also, I would understand if she quoted 150 to contacts from there on out, but having discussed 100 before the raise I would think it only fair to give me the rate discussed. She is young and may still be trying to figure out her price points and how best to manage her business; I can't say I had everything figured out at her age so I cant be too hard on her. There may be things I may not have considered, we all see life play out differently. I don't hold anything against her and would still like to see her, but I would like to hear other perspectives on this.
