Why I have short hair. It is to support the cancer victims.

I wanted to explain to everyone that I cut all my hair off to support the victims of cancer and I am not sick. I was going to do this May 4th at the ATT Stadium but I had came down with a bad cough so I cut it May 3rd at home. I did not think it was right for me to go around anyone with a low immune system that day. I know some may think I am nuts to make such a change in my looks for people I do not know. All the stories and all the Thanks I have received and hopefully will keep receiving makes what I did priceless. I appreciate it more then anyone knows when someone ask what happened to my hair and they say Thank You.

I have purchased some wigs and I found a wig shop in Addison that sales wigs and can style the wig to make it more you. I have found out that some wigs are made out of cotton. The price range of wigs and hair toppers varies just like anything in the world that is for sale. The better the wig the more expensive it is but it is so worth it. I have no issues walking around with my short hair but I do know there will come a bad hair day and I will want to hide.

I found out Thursday at the wig shop that there is a way that someone under 21 with a medical hair lost condition can receive a free wig and care products. The value of this is over 2k and that is the amount per wig. The wigs are very nice wigs and the persons family income has nothing to do with receiving a wig. The young person can get a free wig once a year till they reach 21. I hope with me finding this out and sharing the info that someone will get a wig that could not afford one. I found out Thursday at the wig shop some ladies come in wanting a wig because of hair lost and some can not afford a wig. If anyone has a wig they no longer want or need please donate it. If you think you have ruined your wig cause of heat it could be fixed depending on what it is made from. The lady at the shop is great. She is very nice and helpful. She has been in the wig business for years.

Here are some pictures. The short short hair was May 5th. Then June 3rd it had grown out about 1/4in. The pictures with the longer hair are my wigs. I understand some guys may not like the short hair but the person I am has not changed just because my hair is shorter.

I will add from my experience if you want or need a wig do not buy off the internet go to the shop in Addison or any shop because the one on one touch makes a difference.

Have a great week and take care. Hugs and kisses Truly Passion

CWHL is the name of the place that helps someone get a wig. Here is the website info if anyone would like to look it up. If you know of anyone please share this info so the person can have hair. I know some think you can not donate processed hair but as long as it is at least 8 inches long.

That's awesome that you did this & that wig looks amazing on you!
My hair is too treated to donate, but I donate the $$ and click like & share so many times on my favorite childhood cancer charity.
I'm a huge advocate of two things, finding a treatment for cancer and helping people who live with mental illness.
Thanks for posting this!
Thank you and I was really shocked how light weight the wig is with bangs.

Her original thread. With before pics.

Guys would you see a bald lady?
When it grows out a little you can get extensions if you want your length back.
You are still the same person inside and I wanted to run my fingers over your bald head. Oh well I guess I am to late for that.

Congrats TP!
TP you are a gorgeous woman on the inside and outside. Don't get extensions you rock that look. You deserve to be proud of what you have done for all cancer patients. Almost loosing a loved one to cancer last year what you have done is a blessing to me. Love ya girl
Girlfriend,

Let me say thank you, I am a three time survivor of cancer and at moment my hair is really short, I survived cervical cancer twice and in November was diagnosed with mantle cell lymphoma, it is a non Hodgkin's lymphoma. I did chemo and lost my eyebrows and chunks of hair so its short again. However I am in remission and feeling good. Thanks for the support. It does make us all feel not so ugly....when others take there vanity point and lets those who are or have fought this ugly disease a overwhelming sense of this isn't so bad. so from the bottom of my heart!!!!! THANK YOU!
