I ask you this question because you know more about the RICO law then most of the of members the board... including a lot of Lawyers, members or not.

In reading about this it says that she faces a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison and a fine up to $250,000 on each count.

She is charged with 27 counts of racketeering...
Am I reading it right, that if found guilty on all counts then she is looking at a maximum of 135 years in federal prison and a fine up to $6,750,000?

Technically that would be correct, however, more than likely she is only looking at around 24 to 48 months. The Federal court system uses a sentencing guideline. The system assigns point values for the crime and then breaks down the sentence based on previous criminal history. With a multiple count indictment you will have the base crime point value and then enhancements based on count numbers IE. if you have 4 counts, you have the base value and then you will have upward enhancements for each additional count. The additional counts are usually grouped like 1-4 add 2 pnts, 5-9 and 2 pnts. etc. She will also most likely get an upward enhancement for being the leader of a criminal enterprise. The are also downward departures for things like accepting responsibility, plea bargins, Lastly if she has something to give the feds, she can get a cooperation letter or K5 letter that the Judge and BOP presentencing report will take into consideration.

Locally, you can register an escort business in Wichita, licensed... etc... (local ordinance, not federal for sure).

Anyway, hope things turn out well for everyone involved.
