He was in deep depression. Money can't buy you everything, including happiness.
I'm watching The Birdcage right now. The variety of Robin Williams movies on Netflix is disappointingly limited. I just burst into tears when I read that he was dead. Robin Williams wasn't just one of the best comedians of all time, he also gave amazing dramatic performances as well.

I don't know why I think that the entertainers I loved as I was growing up are supposed to be immortal and live forever, but it breaks my heart when I realize that they aren't.

Roya, don't be an asshole. Those of us who spend our lives wrestling with depression can still feel like we are dying inside, even as we enjoy the heights of success. Neither fame nor fortune can banish the demon of chronic depression, or **** addiction, which Robin Williams also suffered from. Unless you lived inside Robin Williams' head, don't judge him.

All I know is that I am blessed for having been entertained for hours on end by his comedic genius, and my heart goes out to his family.
Ya i know but at least you could get your rocks off in a strange girls mouth daily...
Ya enjoyed from the mork and mindy days.

He was at his best in "Mork and Mindy". R.I.P. I feel like I've lost a close friend even though I never met the man.

Remember, if you are depressed, it's nothing of which to be ashamed. Ask for help.

It's just so sad that he reached out for help by going to rehab several times, even very recently, and the system failed. A very tortured soul, but oh so funny.
