Locking/Closing Threads Question

I understand that, in general, closing of threads is preformed by and at the discretion of the moderators.

So does the vBulletin application support the ability to automate the closing of threads? If it does, could it not be set to close Reviews after 30 days?

Just curious.

It does, and it could be. We choose not to exercise that option as there are exceptions. And who really want to open up a forum and see pages of locked threads? Instead, we expect our members to follow the Forum Guidelines that everyone agreed to when they signed up here.

Specifically;
#13 - In our review forums, be mindful of the 'maturity' of threads you are posting to, ie. the date of the last item posted. We ask that you refrain from posting to a review in which the last post was made 30 or more days ago. Some exceptions may apply if you are providing relevant, valuable or updated information about the provider, but as a general rule of thumb, this can best be accomplished by writing a new review altogether and avoiding the bumping of old ones. This applies to our review forums, in particular, as discussion threads are often allowed to flow for an unspecified length of time.
When they don't, thats when you hear from staff.
Appreciate the explanation. Just seems like it would make the Mods' lives just a smidge easier and prevent the random accidental posting on reviews that are a couple of years old. I saw that happen on a few of those recently, which led me to ask the question.
