newbie question

How do I see providers if I don't have any references?
I usually go to amps but would like to change that.
Any help greatly appreciated.

There are providers that advertise they are "newbie friendly." You may want to start with them. Check out the ads forums. Consider becoming a member of Preferred411. There are ways to get started but it takes patience.
