13 years ago - All flights are grounded and I am in the only active duty helicopter battalion in Alaska. It is the middle of moose hunting season and thousands of hunters have been FLOWN out to camps to hunt. They are expecting a pick up. My job, fly around and tell them what happened and then tell armed men they were not getting on this helicopter. We did bring out extra food and a loaded 50 cal machinegun. "Hi, my name is Major XXXXX and I have a story to tell you..."

We all remember where we were on that day.
