In my view fake pics are just the nature of the beast in this business. If fake pics were alert worthy we could literally have page after page of alerts every single day on that alone thus making the Alerts forum rather bogged down and cluttered in my mind. This would bury alerts on more clear and present dangers.

Still, your argument is also cogent that a provider using fake pics could open up hobbyists to unknown risks, e.x. possible LE.
