Hi guys,

I'm thinking about bartering for some air miles soon.

I want to makes sure I give a fair deal and receive a fair deal, so how does transferring air miles work?

Thanks in advance.

Right now airline tickets out of Dallas are at rock bottom prices to many places. I would just work and buy the ticket. Someone I know the other day bought a ticket to Mexico City for $320.

Agree with THN - it can be a pain to transfer and you need to share all RW info to travel - lots of opportunities for things to go wrong. Same as bartering for computers - not a good idea.

I just had to ask. ;-D
Should have tried to barter for a private flight. I am sure some guy on here has a plane.

more small planes crash than large ones, so it could also be deadly!
More people die in car accidents than bus accidents. Take the bus to ones next appointment.

In frequent flyer circles, an AA or United miles is worth about 1.5 cents (+/-.2). Delta has become very unfrequent flyer friendly and their miles are worth way less about 0.8 cents per mile. Miles are easy to accumulate thru credit card sign up bonuses & other means besides flying but booking awards can be very difficult. You probably have a very flexible schedule & should have an easier time finding useful award flights. If you have any specific questions about FF programs or help with using miles, send me a PM. I would be happy to help.
