Domain hotel. It's an upscale, outdoor mall with all the usual amenities, including a couple of hotels. Not Austin funky like downtown or eastside, but it will get the job done, especially if you don't have a car!

I agree with chelseabean. The Domain is the most amenable to being without a vehicle. Prices are reasonable and the hotels are discreet. Downtown is pedestrian friendly, but more expensive and a nightmare for traffic and parking during peak hours.
