I've always been very courteous and timely when responding to reference requests and I've always been very accommodating. But lately gentlemen have been expecting references without asking and without giving me advance notice and wondering why I don't respond.
I'm sure that other providers are encountering the same, so for the gentlemen who are seeking references, here are a few points that may expedite the process.
- Asking for a reference once is not a blanket request. You would do well to ask the provider or give her a heads up prior to each request. ie: I received a request a few days ago from a number I did not know, from a provider I had never heard of. The client did not ask for the reference and did not give me any type of advance notice that she would be contacting. Chances are she's a legit provider, but she could be a scorned girlfriend or wife trying to glean info from me. (I am not going to take my time to Google her number or form a search party to find this info out). A quick "Hi Liz. Blank will be contacting you for a reference. Would you mind?" Would do wonders!
- My time, as well as many other providers, may be limited. I may not be able to answer a reference request quite literally in the hour that they sent it. Be patient and again, giving a provider advance notice so that she can look for the message may help.
- Please don't expect that a good reference will be given (especially if you did not ask for one.) There are two sides to every story and your provider may have a different opinion of how your session went.
- Please don't demand that that we answer reference requests just hours after they are sent (again, especially if you didn't ask for one.) Demanding that I (or any provider) respond to a reference request is not going to make me (or them) do so. Telling me "Answer her texts because I need a good reference" is definitely not a good way to get me to do anything. Be kind and ask politely
- Please don't think that I will give an infinite number of references for you if you have been to my location just once, three or more months ago. I don't have a problem giving references, but asking for 3+ references from one visit is a bit much. I don't put a number limit on references, of course, but if you've seen other providers, use your most recent providers for references, not a provider from 3 or more months ago.
All this being said, if you would like a reference from me in the future, please email as text will no longer be an option.
Also, my time will be EXTREMELY limited for references, appointments and hobby-related brouhaha (I love that word!). Please don't get angry if your request goes unanswered perhaps for days. In a few weeks, the hobby will no longer a priority for me and as much as I've enjoyed it, I have something more meaningful.
Thank you to all the gentlemen who visited me & my girls. We've had a lot of fun!
