A prosperous area for profesionals and non-profesionals..
The medical center isn't too far from the airport, I would assume that's why it's a happening spot.. plus all the businesses there. Good luck and happy hobbying!
San Antonio is divided into 5 parts of town, The Eastside is mostly black. The Southside and the Westside are mostly Hispanics. Downtown is a mixture of people, as is the north side. Eastside, Southside, and Westside aren't very prosperous. Downtown is too hectic to get around, as in any major city. That leaves the North side. The center of the North side is the Medical Center to the Airport. North of the Medical Center and Airport is a nice side of town. To the East and West of the Medical Center and the Airport are just average side of town. To the south of that area, it is a little below normal in prosperity. Just a lower crime area. If you stick around the medical area and the airport, you will be safe. Go to the social and meet everyone, northside, also. Then again, some people aren't scared of anyone, if you are one of those guys, go anywhere.

One other note about Med Center East to the airport. A great many hotels ranging from two - four star allows 'visitors' a high degree of mobility.

This makes outcalls and procuring incalls a bit 'safer' in my opinion.

However, some of the hotels in the airport area have become less friendly towards providers.

Damn shame really, they pay the going room rate the same as anybody else.

Good question by the way.

Don't overlook fact that Med Center area not only has hotels, but many many residential apartment properties.... most of the less than 4 stars are clean, well tended and relatively less expensive than the 4 and 5 star properties, which may also have more obvious security measures.

imo, many providers do not live nor work within the "med center" or "airport" areas, but in what I classify as the "north central" which could encompass everywhere from Loop 410 to Loop 1604 on the "south" and "north" and from say I-10 on the "west" to US-281 on the "east" and overlaps a couple of miles outside those definitions as well.
