This could never happen . . . could it?

Found out recently that I may be losing my administrative assistant. If so, it wouldn't happen for a while but it made me start thinking about having to hire her replacement. Here would be my dream:

Smart, detail-oriented and professional. Oh . . . and a provider to boot. Compensation would be set at a level to include occasional providing duties for me in the office, or those duties could be paid for separately at her choice. Flexible work hours would allow her to take some appointments outside the office during the day.

Nothing better than an admin assistant that could provide some quick stress relief during the day! Benefits to her would be a "regular" paycheck, having an employment reference, still having a little time to provide during the day and not having to hide it from her boss.

Naaahhhhh . . . never happen . . . makes me think of that Seinfeld episode where Jerry and Elaine wanted to stay friends and just have casual sex and they even came up with some rules ("staying overnight was optional", "no call the next day", etc.). George said it could never happen, that it had been tried throughout history and always failed.

In a perfect world maybe. Great thought, but I have my doubt's it would end well.
How about the asst that is leaving? Did you have this arrangement with her also?

Curious as I could never make it work.

Possible lawsuit. Possible jail time.

When one has control over another person (the boss), you can not even think of taking advantage of a subordinate, that is wrong - and it is extensively covered by numerous laws. I know that everything here is fantasy, but this your fantasy has the potential of being a nightmare.

Keep everything on the up and up in the office. If you have special needs take your fantasy discussions to a good listener outside of the office. There are several girls here that are good listeners, and good friends. Keep your personal life with your friends.

But yeah, the potential downside is obvious and that's why I titled this thread the way I did. Also why I said it was a "dream" and one that has a snowball's chance in Hell of every coming true and ending well.

But still, wouldn't it be cool? And for the record, I do know of one situation about 15 years ago where it was done and worked out very well for both parties. But they had a good history together before she came to work for him. She worked for him for about five years under that arrangement.
Not to mention the years it would take to find a beautiful woman that would actually show up everyday on time, successfully do what you requested in a timely manner, not have any drama, and have an IQ over a toddler.

IF you did eventually find one, I'm guessing it would run around 5k/week.
Dude, no offense RR but that would be a very foolish idea in my opinion...
I actually think that the regular hours would be the biggest deterrent to finding someone. As a provider, she is self-employed and sets her own hours. Even with the flexibility I can provide, the necessity to maintain office hours probably isn't too attractive to many providers. The exception might be someone with school-age kids who has to get up and around in the morning anyway. Just my hunch.

I'd be interest in hearing from the gals on that.

Bottom is there are all kinds of reasons this isn't gonna happen. It would take exactly the right combination of skills and temperaments.

RR, one thing I see is that you posted this in Coed to see if any providers will bite. Otherwise, I think an issue like this would have been posted in the Men's Locker Room. Just my spidey-sense at work. Your initial post in itself could be used as evidence in litigation against you. I know if I were a provider that considered this offer, I would be printing out this thread. She may decide to stop providing for you because of a disagreement and all shit will then hit the fan. Seems as if there is too much to lose in this situation.
You guys are taking this waaaay too seriously. I think my tongue was planted a little too firmly in my cheek.

There is a Lady on this board in the DFW area that had such an arrangement for several years. When it went south (and they always do) it turned very ugly. And to top it all off, they both thought they got screwed by the other ..... but then, I guess they really did.

Nice in concept - bad, idea in practice 'cause there but one way it will end. ;-(

Anyone remember the first season of Californication? The agent fires his assistant and then learns that she was also a Suicide Girl model. He hires her back.
