La Perla and Agent Provocateur are OK

I had a session with a young woman who appreciates the finer things and she was wearing, unbeknownst to me, a La Perla bra and panty set. They were both very pretty and seductive, but what impressed me, as I closely inspect the panty, was how well made and comfortable it was. I mentioned this to the lady, who said, "They better be, they are from La Perla.” I found the price on La Perla’s website. I'm not sure they are worth the king's ransom price tag, but they certainly were a cut above the normal VS stuff worn by so many ladies. Here is the La Perla website

A few weeks earlier I saw another young woman who strutted her stuff in a bra, panty and garter set from Agent Provocateur. She had a lingerie model's body and the goods could not have been more elegantly and erotically displayed, but I was floored when I saw the prices for those little bits of silk, gauze and elastic were. Here is the Agent Provocateur Website.

I am not sure what discussion points I am trying to make, but I thought this would be the place to express my pleasure and awe.
It's amazing isn't it? Yet, as elegant as the stuff is, I'll confess to still being more turned on by a pair of jean shorts and a white cotton t-shirt. Both tight, of course. What's wrong with me? Ha.

Yes, some of my favorite lingerie is from those two stores. Although the VS designer label, which is difficult to find outside of places like NYC, is starting to produce some amazing pieces as well, priced very similarly.

Have you looked at the price tags on designer shoes lately? Equally mind-blowing. When I moved to NYC a year ago one of my girlfriends firmly told me, "don't skimp on the uniform!" I think gentlemen with more expensive taste do know and appreciate the difference between designer lingerie and $30-$50 VS bras and panties. Maybe it's less common in the south, but the NYC men can definitely tell the difference, so that pushed me to take my lingerie wardrobe to the next level.

Wolford is another high-end place with very high quality stockings and pantyhose. They're amazingly strong and many of us ladies go through stockings like tissues until we discover them.

My favorite pair of purple stockings featured in my current photos are from Agent Provocateur. The white lingerie set in my newest photos are La Perla. The lacey lavender three piece set in the bluish photos with the purple stockings is Victoria's Secret designer label.

I do buy a few choice items from the VS signature line every year... it's a Christmas gift to myself Even on their best day though, Victoria's Secret doesn't last half as long as the top notch construction. I'm fairly tough on my lingerie though, to be fair.

We are lucky enough to have an Agent Provocateur in Boston, as well as a La Perla, and I'm no stranger to either! I actually had the trying moment of walking into AP late one night with a civie friend and having the clerk address me by my "name"... what can I say, myself and a particular gentleman friend are frequent shoppers.

Agent Provocateur produces some very fun things, and I am a huge fan of their stockings particularly. La Perla, while they do not carry as broad a line as Agent Provocateur, makes the most comfortable panties in the world... they almost feel *better* than being naked! Almost.

I don't usually spend $500 on a bra and am an unabashed sale shopper... as well as a very grateful gift receiver, which is honestly where most of my wardrobe comes from

I concur, Ladies. I wish we had La Perla in Lafayette.

I wish there was a La Perla anywhere in the region, for that matter. I was trying to get one of my girlfriends a set recently in Houston and Dallas and neither of them have a boutique. Even Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue only carry the "La Perla Studio" line, which just isn't as beautiful or high quality IMO.

And let's take it one level higher. If the lady is out with her date you have to add the cost of a dress, designer bag and coat. With Burberry trenches nearing 2K the whole package is nearing five figures.

And strangely and wonderfully, you can project an equally strong erotic image in some skin tight jeans and a T, but those jeans now go for a buck and a half. But you can skip the panties.

Once I introduced my wife, now ex, to La Perla, that was all she wore. Looked good, felt great, lasted a long time (the lingerie, not the marriage). I once asked a sales person why La Perla was so expensive. I was told that the lace was all HAND made, the the pieces were assembled with the finest silk again by HAND. Thus the reason for their cost. I can't say anything about AP. The dresses were designer originals (3-5K each), the coats were Mink or Russian Sable, shoes were Louie B, or Jimmy Choo, plus several custom hand made heels from Florence Italy, pursues were designer brands, Mikimoto was standard along with Harry Winston, and the only "discount" item were stockings/panty hose form Nordstrum because if you get a run in them you can return them and get a new pair for free. So a total out fit would easily run 10-20K. Aside form the coats and the lingerie, everything else needed replaced on a regular basis due to wear and tear (ever see a woman polish her shoes?), changing fashions, and changing seasons. Since then I don't buy my lady friends any of that stuff. Stick to VS, shoes from Dillards, Coats from Macy's, and dresses from non-designer boutiques, and off brand jewelry. Total now less than 1K, and you don't mind getting replacements because the cost is relatively low. And most people will never notice the difference.

GTDADDY, this is a cruel but necessary question: so how much did that divorce cost you? You can respond in qualitative terms if you like.

While I find, Jeans are really sexy--especially the very tight legging type.
I always liked those tight jeans the ones that make those Guess Ads so Sexy and Appealing.

I love La Perla and Agent Provocateur I wear underneath.

I used to be a Victoria Secret Girl but then graduated to Agent Provocateur. I noticed the guys that like me are always requesting it.
So why not....

One has to please your friends although I enjoy when they please me too (wink).

Have a wonderful Holiday Time everyone.

I usually buy my new lingerie and heels before my photoshoots so they can look perfect for the camera, and yes, a whole outfit does run about $1.5-2K. Then with the cost of the photographer and location, the photoshoot easily totals $3-4K. It pays for itself fairly quickly, of course, and then I have both the photos and the nice outfit to take me into the season and beyond.

I've never understood the designer handbag thing, but I feel oh-so-sexy in my fancy lingerie and designer heels, which I tend to only wear in the bedroom.

My lingerie is almost always more expensive than anything I wear over it. I've been a pretty heavy lingerie fetishist for most of my life, so that's where my focus goes... I wear it for myself, most of my photos are done on the fly with whatever I happen to have laying around. Most photographers really don't know what to *do* when I offer them the list of options from my wardrobe...

Of course, I've learned to appreciate the difference in comfort between shoe brands, but I don't get that hung up on it otherwise. Clothes? I'm a general in the Salvation Army, lol. Though I do stick to the stores on the borders between affluent and not-so-much areas, as that's where the best deals on well tailored items can be found.

Then again, I'm the type of girl who - when not cavorting with you fabulous gentlemen of course - is out in the woods wearing ripped jeans, sh*t-kicking combat boots (which in full disclosure are much more expensive than many might think), a holey beater tank, and Mimi Holiday panties.

Some comments reminded me of a review in which the guy snarked about the escorts "cheap VS lingerie." There is a broad line between appreciating and denigrating the quality of a lady's lingerie. So are there many radical undies snobs among the high net worth shopping crowd? And how is this brand of snobbery manifested? Do they send out Hobby RFP's that specify La Perla and/or AP or is it just an understood thing?
