How does end of year holidays affect the hobby?

Im sure the end of the year things get tight on both sides here in the hobby world. For providers maybe they may have to reduce hours for travel and time with family. For the gents Im sure they have to dish out for traveling, turkey day dinner, guests, family time, and gifts for friends/family on xmas day. And for the party animals new years eve takes another bite outta ya.
What Im getting at is not just a specific answer but general feed back from both sides about how the end of the year goes for ya.

Actually picks up for me. I'm in SA more in Nov. & Dec. than any time of the year. SA has some fine ladies and also I don't hobby at home.

Last year I had the same results, I couldn't take all the calls that I received. I was still a newbie then, and couldn't imagine that my phone would ring on those days... but I got calls on Christmass day, thanksgiving day and new years eve and day !! Of course I wasn't working but business never slowed down for me then. Let's see what happens this year.

I myself am only affected by limited play time availability. The SO is taking xmas vacation the same week as I am so I will have to be MIA for 1 week

Less time and less money for this Santa.. taking care of my wife and daughter comes first.. I'll come more after tax refund time I hope.
my play time is affected by holiday travels & finishing the end of the semester/finals
The hobby picks up for me starting thanksgiving, i think there are less gals around in general. Christmas is great also, same reasons i think, plus guys spend money, can get out the house a little easier with ready made excuses (shopping for gifts).

But in January might be the slowest month of the year, i think people spend to much on the holidays and cant really spend that extra cash on hobbing. that January lag normally last till early feb when the irs returns start coming back...

imho, that is what i have observed..
