Vegas is definitely a different place and as such Mods should stay within the guidelines of the board due to the large number of visitors the city gets from other areas.

ECCIE has guidelines.

Las Vegas does not have it's own set of Guidelines.

Las Vegas is one of the most popular vacation destinations in North America and gets visitors from all over the world.

I am sure those visitors include guys that hobby and are members of ECCIE.

As such I believe your MOD staff here needs to strive to be welcoming and hospitable to ALL members and to stay within the Guidelines that ECCIE has posted for ALL members.

Your Review section seems to be sporadic and it is easily understandable where periods of time may pass between a review and a comment.....

The board's guidelines encourage members to not bump reviews that are more than 30 days old. They DO allow for members to comment on them no matter how old they are if they provide relevant information.

I believe it is important for your MOD staff to be clear in regards to why they lock a thread and to perhaps admonish and warn a member when they incorrectly bump a thread and strive to allow the thread to remain unlocked.

Locked threads reek of censorship. Of Mods making a determination as to what we are and are not allowed to discuss.

In the case of both threads recently locked my personal opinion is that the Moderator did not need to actually lock the thread but to warn the member and clearly state what the policy was.

Then to allow the thread to remain unlocked in case other members may, at some point, wish to post new relevant information to the review.

Other opinions are certainly welcomed.

For those that are unaware this is covered by Guideline #13

"#13 - In our review forums, be mindful of the 'maturity' of threads you are posting to, ie. the date of the last item posted. We ask that you refrain from posting to a review in which the last post was made 30 or more days ago. Some exceptions may apply if you are providing relevant, valuable or updated information about the provider, but as a general rule of thumb, this can best be accomplished by writing a new review altogether and avoiding the bumping of old ones. This applies to our review forums, in particular, as discussion threads are often allowed to flow for an unspecified length of time."

.In the case of the two threads locked the MOD fails to educate the offender or membership as to when it IS allowable to bump the thread.

It's a little heavy handed in my opinion as well as unnecessary.
