MISSOURI VS KENTUCKY

WOW I just got in town from Kentucky! I am best friends with DestinyInKC, some of ya'll know she is from Kentucky (we are both preachers daughters, hehe! She brought out the naughty in me!)

But it sure is a change (almost overwhelming but maybe in a good way?) coming from such a SMALL town to this HUGE city! I love it though!! I just wanted to say hey to ya'll and introduce myself. I am so excited to explore your city!

Any recommendations of where I should start?
What are your favorite places in Kansas City?

Restaurants? Sight seeing? I hope to make some friends here soon!
you will be just fine babygirl! I want recommendations too so we can go sightseeing together lol, I haevnt even been yet

The Plaza by the JC Nichols (the contractor who built the Plaza) is the first mall ever built in the country. If you don't have the money then you can window shop or find some nice guy who will buy it for you.

In Kansas to the north you have the Legends, in Missouri to the north you have Zona Rosa. Both big malls and interesting.

For food, Town Topic is the place for the best hamburgers in the country though nine other places will dispute that. Also Strouds (north or south) for fried chicken. For BBQ you can go commercial at Gates but many think that Oklahoma Joe's is better.

Kansas City is the home of AMC theaters, Sprint, Hallmark, and H & R Block. You can go see the Sprint center down at the Power & Light district along with the Kauffman center, Bartle Hall, and several other live entertainment venues. Not so nearby is Crown Center which is across the corner from the Liberty Memorial (if you like history) and the Union Station.

Farm girl? Farms, horses, pigs, and chickens on both sides of the state line.
As the kcbarkeep, I can tell you where to drink and where the best service industry nights are! I'm sure providers are covered under sin nights. They are in my bar.

Welcome to KC! Have fun and play safe!
Union Station has some cool things to see, you also have the WW1 museum, plaza for xmas, crown center for labor day (irish fest), worlds of fun for october ren fest, oceans of fun to cool off in the summer, casinos for the 4th of July (fireworks), p&l district plaza and ledgends for shopping and eating.Gate's BBQ is pretty good (can't go to KC and not have BBQ). There is one down by UMKC. Firehouse Subs is pretty good too from what I have heard, and think they are located somewhere in the Northland. Pretty sure there is more to see and do but there are just a few that I could think of off the top of my head.

Sightseeing - take in the view from Shawnee Mission Park tower. Sunrise (or sunset) is one of the more spectacular views in all the city.

Take a long walk around the grounds of the phallic WWI memorial for panoramic splendor.

But that's in Kansas, won't you get arrested if you cross the state line? JK, that is a great park, Theatre in the Park is fun on a pleasant summer night.
