Traffic

What should have taken 1 hour and 22 minutes ended up taking a little over 2 hours (drove from my place to downtown Waco).
I've never seen traffic so bad as going North; especially through Temple. UGh a nightmare yesterday. I figured since it was Sunday it wouldn't be so bad but nope it was. Darn spring breakers is all i could figure.
I saw the traffic going North on I-35 after arrival at home heard of the 6 car pileup North of Waco around noon. Glad I was headed South

Construction mess. The "My 35" project is widening Interstate Highway in Bell and McLennan counties from 4 lanes to 6 lanes. It will also be replacing the main bridges across the Brazos river.

This construction is much needed, but will keep our area in turbulence for quite a few more years.

Prior to construction, a trip from Killeen to Waco was less than an hour. The same trip on Monday a week ago took me over 2 hours. Just a lot of traffic being squeezed into two lanes each way, past barricades, lane changes and merging traffic.

Overall the construction is coming along well. Just be aware that on any day, the traffic can be at a dead stop in Temple/Belton and south of Waco.......

Thanks for listening to me gripe. I knew about the construction in Temple as I go there once a month. It just hadn't been that bad before. I can't wait for it to be over.
You are right sarge, it is needed, just a big pain in the neck.
