Best Towns to Tour in East Texas?

I'm thinking about making a trip to East Texas soon. I've been to Tyler, Canton and Lake Palestine for pleasure, but never for business and pleasure!!

I recently have a lot of time to myself and want to visit the area again. Its so pretty out there, but I have no idea where the most common place for providing is around there.

Any suggestions?

From time to time I've seen the ISO threads asking for Tyler, Longview, etc. I think those are the cities you may want to give it a try.

could stay in Lindale, and catch both. 20 minutes from tyler and 30 from longview....but there are some around here that wont travel that far.....smh

If you end up coming to Tyler, I would suggest staying out of the North side of town because it has been under police surveillance.
