Mobile and Montgomery questions

Hi everyone. I will be visiting soon and someone mentioned that good seafood can be found in Mobile. Before I start searching Urban Spoon do any of the locals have suggestions?

I am also planning to visit Montgomery and would like suggestions for fun things to do in both places. I have never been to Alabama and really want to get out and explore the local fun.

My past travel experiences have consisted of very little touristy stuff and I kinda want to try something different and enjoy the area. I do plan on doing my own research but who better to ask than someone that actually lives there.

If anyone would like to be a tour guide and go site seeing that would be fun too.

Thanks so much for any suggestions.

Mobile, AL seafood....Felix's on the Causeway is the Bomb!
Several places on the causeway are good, but I agree with airborne... Felix's is the best. As for things to do in Mobile, it's really all about the beaches IMO.
As mentioned above, Felix's is great but if you want some good crawfish try RnR across the road.

Thank you both for the recommendation...looks like I will be checking out Felix's.

I love the idea of the beach but I am exceptionally pale and tend to burn quickly. And romantic walks on the beach kinda lose the mood when walking alone.
Montgomery isn't exactly a tourism hot-spot, ma'am... If you like plays, Montgomery's best feature is the Shakespeare Festival and attached Museum of Fine Art. There's also the Tampa Bay AA baseball affiliate, the Biscuits, if you like baseball and the zoo. Unfortunately, that's about it.
If you're in Montgomery looking for a place to eat may I suggest D'Road Cafe. Best restaurant in town.

Delta- We were writing at the same time and I missed yours. When I was a kid my sister had some crawdads as pets. I think they eventually got eaten but I have always associated them with her pets and not been able to eat them. I am totally missing out by this silly association. Lol

I may go to the zoo unless the festival happens to be going on at the same time I am visiting. And D'Road Cafe looks like someplace I would enjoy trying.

Thank you all for your assistance.
The Dumbwaiter in downtown Mobile has the best food in the city, but Felix's is good too. After dinner, go to the Bluegill to hangout and listen to live music.

Montgomery for dinner? Downtown area I highly recommend Central! It's the bomb in Montgomery IMHO! Can't go wrong. You can also find a number of different eateries in the the downtown area too.

The Bluegill definitely sounds like fun. I love live music and people watching.

I will go see what I can find out about Central and downtown.

Thank you all for taking the time to make suggestions. I am looking forward to finally getting there.
