Gemma was just named the best new restaurant in Dallas...

FT33 in the Design District is amazing...

Some standards:

For pizza, try Zoli's or il Cane Rossa...

For BBQ, Pecan Lodge, Lockhart's or Slow Bone...

Burgers, Rodeo Goat or Stackhouse...

www.dallasobserver.com/restaurants is a good source for restaurant reviews and top pick lists.

The Dallas Observer is a free weekly paper available at most newsstands and has good info on activities in Dallas.

What part of town are you staying in? That would be helpful in making some suggestions.

Dallas is pretty spread out. When I'm traveling to a different city, I tend to prefer to stay in one area ... for the most part.

Anyway ... when you do visit Dallas, good luck and enjoy what our friendly city has to offer!!!

Best,
Elisabeth

Welcome to Dallas!

I don't have any suggestions, of high end dining that I've experienced, in your area.

However, the last time that I was in your area, I went to this buffet sushi place (it was on Belt Line not too far from the tollway, on the Addison side) and it was REALLY good. The restaurant serves a huge offering of different foods but the focus is on sushi, and hot soups, meats, etc.

Wish that I could remember the name of it. I've been there a few times and if you like to eat a lot of sushi (and it's very decent. I've had better but for a buffet, it's really good) and I'll try to remember the name, after I finish some coffee ... and that might be a good option for lunch.

If you like that type of food.

I sincerely wish that I had more ideas to offer. But I like Oak Cliff, and the Bishop Arts area, and more of downtown/uptown things to do and dine. Those areas just pretty far from you especially when there are so many fabulous places near where you're currently located.

So this is a good topic for me, too!

Warmly,
Elisabeth
