Logging into Public Wifi and the Hobby

I am just about to board my flight to Philadelphia and, to kill time, I was looking through the site. Of course, the airport wifi pops up as an option. I am never comfortable using a public wifi to log into the site or conduct business.

Am I correct to worry? Do they monitor activity?

Thanks!

If you use public wifi, there's always a chance of someone eavesdropping on you -- far more likely a nosey and tech-savvy individual, vice Big Brother.

As for Big Brother -- since you mentioned airport, I can't help but wonder whether TSA or some other fed entity monitors online activity at airports for indications of terrorist intent. What with the sheer volume of such activity, I'd imagine they're looking at website and e-mail addresses and 'phone #'s, vice content, and using a highly automated system to identify any matches with known or suspected addresses and numbers of extremists.

But even if that's the case, they have more pressing concerns than busting escorts.
Wifi is good for other handles
But some places block pornographic sites, in which case you can't open Eccie.
Ironically you can Backpage.
I was just in Philly last weekend. I turn my wifi off when I am not home and visiting the site.

Oh dont worry about using publicwifi for silly eccie. Whats someone gonna do? Post ads onyour account? Steal my stupid posts and sell them to louie ck? I wouldnt do banking bill paying or credit card shopping on a public wifi network tho.

Rick I bet you know every public wifi network within 40 miles of yoir house.

Flinde in sunny del mar ca. Gonna be going to dog beach in solana beach today. So limited stupid flinde posts while in ca. Fish tacos for dinner.

Drove along 101 from encinitas to del mar at 6 am with my bagels from garden state bagels. Got to thinking. We revere edison for inventing the light bulb. Henry ford for inventing cars. But the inventor of the sports bra? Bubkus. Possibly the greatest invention of the 20th century I thought this morning watching the gals jogging along 101 in their sports bras.and I dont even know who invented the fucking things.
Exactly my feelings... Public wifi feels a lot like a public restroom lol

Thank you, guys.

I was having the same thoughts while staying in a hotel in Dallas last week, I typically just click off wifi if I plan on accessing hobby sites. Better safe than sorry.
@ flinde--- don't forget El Indio's for some rolled tacos & the originals Rubios in mission beach !!

Thanks no muff. Good idea about rubios. I usually go down to that seafood market with all the smoked fish at point loma when I'm down that way but original rubios is a great idea. Especially since its 1/2price fish taco Tuesday.
Try Hodad's out in Ocean Beach too... Great Burgers...
In an airport, I'm not sure they would be concerned about ECCIE but you can bet TSA monitors web activity in an airport! Hell, they have heat sensitive cameras all over the place that can detect contraband under your clothing! Just for fun, fill a Baggie full of baking powder and stuff it in your crotch - you'll be detained within minutes of walking through the door!
I was in Philly and used it with no problem and no pop up blocks.
no you shouldn't worry bout eccie content at free wifi airports... and hotels... etc...the filters they are triggered to set alarms off are extreme subject matter, under age , threats stuff like that... there is an agreement that you agree to prior to getting on network. which nobody reads but basically your taking responsibility of the subject matter in which you visit. the reason many of these networks are open is because if "filters" were in place, and someone was able to hack or get around and expose a questionable site to someone who is offended then the host/airport will be held liable for not having a strong enough filter.... thus they leave it open and you sign the agreement... i designed the first wifi network in the sa airport st louis airport , chicago airport... nobody is sitting there watching it... alarms do go off if illegal stuff mentioned is being surfed. they will term the connection grab the ip address and the billing information, i.e. credit card. and passed along to TSA who then passes it to local le...it has to be pretty fucked up content. porn video streaming/ youtube are the top data stream in most all public wifi networks....LOL they're use to it...and its a constant data dump at the end of the day...
^^^ very interesting. But since we deal with client info, being on my 4G/LTE should be safer than public wifi?
