Let me bump this back up...
Decriminalization is what is needed!!
+1!!

The majority of the safety risks that the ladies take in this profession would be eliminated if only they could report violent crimes against themselves without having to fear being arrested themselves for "prostitution".

I think this thread got a lack of replies mainly because we're nearly all on the same page on this.

If not, I'd love to hear the arguments for keeping "prostitution" laws on the books.

Absolutely, we are mostly on the same page.
I have no argument for draconian blue laws.

Thank you darling.
I don't understand why you he she or anyone should concern themselves with what goes on in the bedroom of two (or more) consenting adults. Or why it is illegal.

Well it makes no sense for sex work to be illegal but it is and has been since WW1. And you're right it's nobodys buiness what two consenting adults do together privately behind closed doors.
Why it is still illegal? The country was founded on religious principles and there you have it.
The religious wives of politicians who are out paying for hookers won't stand for it to be legalized.

The only reason it isn't decriminalized is because it's hard to regulate and get tax money. You think society cares about women's rights??
Even Women's Lib was all about tax money.
While religious organizations are tax exempt.
See what they did there. "Pimps up hoes down"; as they say.
Yeah religion fucks everything up for women.
