So, yeah, I have a little experience being "on the autism spectrum". (The poster above is correct; "Aspberger's" is being phased out.)
How one deals with it over one's life is something I'm not qualified to address; I did so quite poorly. In fact, my mother waited until I was in my 40s to confess to me that she and my father had discussed my social interaction problems many times. At one point, they both agreed that I needed to get laid more than any 16-year-old they'd ever seen in their lives.
If only they had told me that when I was 16...
