Movies that can't have a sequel but Should.
Okay, what movie have you seen that you liked, but can't have a sequel?
Say like...
TITANIC
I thought LUSITANIA was the sequel.
American Sniper.
La Bamba.
Walk The Line.
Selena.
Old Yeller.
Fried Green Tomatoes
Schindler's List
Fight Club
The Shawshank Redemption
The Departed
Se7en
Braveheart
Reservoir Dogs
The Mist
I was gong to add Scarface.
Commando, Pulp fiction, enter the dragon, full metal jacket, platoon
I'm going to add the new Steve Jobs movie.
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
The Thing
Those two come to mind. Interestingly enough, the studio immediately ordered a sequel to "The Departed" upon its massive success. I guess they didn't bother to watch the film they had just produced, huh? Still, rumors still swirl from time to time that a prequel/sequel may be in the works, but I doubt it.
Scorsese, the director of The Departed, has yet to do a sequel to any of his movies. Personally don't see one coming for this one considering the end result of the movie also, relating to the title of the thread. Don't want to say too much for those who have not seen it, lol. Easily one of the best endings to a film, and for this one in particular.
As for sequels, heard through the grapevine most studios will pick up a movie if it has potential for a sequel and place a higher bid for the scripts based on sequel potential. How true it is however is another story.
Leaving Las Vegas
Apocalypto
