---for personal purposes?
(not looking for prepaid)

what phones have you been pretty impressed with as far as features?
and what cell phone company have you stuck with?

for me, customer service ranks #1...when looking for a company to switch to! i just ended my 10yr relationship today with the cell co. i had bc their customer service SUCKS!!!! sux, i had to pay that cancellation fee...oh well, it was worth it!!

so im very interested in the responses!!
I am about to switch from AT&T to Verizon. I even asked for advice regarding I phone vs Droid X. I have many friends that are also saying Verizon has great customer service and a larger area of coverage. I am going to give them a try.

Never had a problem with Sprint but dropped them when the company I work for got me an AT&T phone. I hate it. Poor reception pretty much everywhere I've been in SA.

Don't most of them have a return policy for the first 15-30 days? That would cover the time needed to verify excellent product, call quality and coverage in the places you will use it. It would also give you an idea about how much they value their product. No return policy = phone service / customer service is probably poor.

May i suggest Verizon. I had Sprint for years, but switched and glad i did.
The Droid X is awesome!
Good luck
I have had Sprint for years and am well satisfied. I go to the Best Buy at 1604/281 North for anything I need. Great customer service there. This has been my experience.
ive had at&t for 10 years and they SUCK all the way around!
Verizon for superior customer service. ATT service and customer service sucks, Sprint Customer Service sucks. Plus Verizon has the best nation wide coverage and selection of phones.
Sprint has by far the best rates, and I have never had an issue with customer service or coverage (hardly ever drop a call). I did at one time fall into the iPhone hype and switched to AT&T, and only then could I really appreciate Sprint's coverage (AT&T is CRAP!). Needless to say, I went back to Sprint.

On Sprint, I pay $79.99 for unlimited texts, unlimited picture and video mail, unlimited data, 4G coverage, and 450 anytime minutes. Since the plan lets you call any mobile for free (no matter the carrier) and nights and weekends start at 7pm by default, I have never needed more than 450 minutes. You cannot find a plan this comprehensive for anywhere near that price with any other carrier.

Side note, adding phone insurance is $7 a month.

I am also very happy with the evo 4g.
yes, what doriaN said........just switch from BB to Evo. Happy with Evo

I can't stand AT&T customer service and apple. I hardly get any good service when I travel. Hell, I tried to make a phone call inside the alamodome and I couldn't even connect. The guy next to me had a droid and was able to connect. I'm dropping AT&T soon and I'm selling the iPhone after that. Yea, iPhone nice and all but you have to deal with AT&T service. Also, I have issue with iTunes since I'm not allow to use other software. Go with Verzion.

Everyone makes me want to switch to Verizon. My desire for Droid X.

But being a past Sprint customer, I like the price of their service plans. I dropped them because I didn't like the fact that they drew money from my bank without my permission. And the fact when I would pay with CC they would not confirm they got the money and i'd end up with late charges even though I had money in account.

Being with ATT (and letting my contract lapse) I hated them before I even made my third payment. My phone took a dump and they would not budge in helping me. Even after going to the main place on loop 410 (and reminding them that I paid more than I had to just to get good service since I like face time with people I do business with.) After that experience I just go there to pay the bill. The old manage use to hide when he saw me come in. Spineless bastard.

So, if you want to do business with a company that just wants your money and will send threats to you if you're late with payment, go to att.

I LOVE holding off payment till they threaten to cut me.

Just waiting for a phone/service plan that I like entirely.
I've had Verizon for over 15yrs.....it was primeco back then (then later merged into Verizon in '99) but the service has always been the same. I've never had a problem w/ service or customer service. I've had family members that have worked for ATT that wouldn't use their cell service and have had friends that have switched through all the carriers over the years and they all have ended up with Verizon (with a few exceptions being the apple 'juice' drinkers...).

And, the Droid X friggin rocks.
