Are Using Private Tags Necessary?

It there is information already posted in Coed Discussions or an ISO that is not private and then the same information is in the ROS of a review ( something other than pictures ) is it necessary to use private tags to comment on the review.

An example:

If the info was in the ROS first then private tags should be used anywhere it is reposted or discussed. If it wasn't private to begin with and shows up in the ROS then it does not have to have private tags on it. However, if that info is discussed on the review thread it should have private tags since most people will not know it was posted elsewhere.
If the reviewer posts ROS information, without using private tags, then it it not necessary to use private tags to discuss that information. Correct?

That is correct. If the reviewer exposes their own ROS then it is open season on that info.
I have always questioned the comments made when ROS info is put in "private tags" saying dumb or unnecessary. If anyone copies and pastes from ROS to main, would it stay private by tag, or become public domain. If that would stay private on the move, then I understand why someone would use private tag in ROS if they were at all concerned it could be pasted public. Crypt can shed light on whether there is any reason to use private tags in ROS.
Never thought of that

If you are talking about if someone quotes the entire review, as long as the ROS tags are still there then the ROS is still in private. If you are simply talking about discussing any part of the ROS, or quoting any pat of the ROS then it must be behind private tags unless it is the original reviewer quoting or discussing it.
