What the hell? First Scott Weiland from STP, then Lemmy, Natalie Cole, David Bowie, now Glenn Frey? January 2016 is turning out to be a dangerous month for my favorite musicians!!

Yep, it's a bummer. Now the 70's rockers are slowly dying off.

yup.. the 1970's musicians are starting to drop like flies, if I may be so crass.. that's 4 in the past 3 weeks, all of whom I've seen, fortunately.. 3 times for Frey with the Eagles, the last just under 2 years ago.
Fucking ridiculous. We're not even out of January yet and have lost so much.
I used to see Henley around East Dallas all the time...but haven't in a few years.........

Cooper Anderson did a nice tribute to Frey last night..............the Documentary (on Netflix) about the band is a good watch.....plenty of vintage video.....

I don't even want to look at my smart phone the rest of this month.....who's next?

So many of the musicians we grew up on are getting on in years....Ozzy and Plant (both 67)....Henley (68)...Clapton (70)....Jagger, Richards, Page (all 72).....and Willie Nelson (82) just to name a few.

None of us are promised tomorrow, no matter our age. That said, I'd just like to see Ol' Grim Reaper take a break for a while....as of late he's been a tad too busy for my taste.

Speaking of Henley, I'd heard that he had a residence in Lakewood. Perhaps he hasn't been seen much due to being on tour. After just now Wikipedia-ing him, I discovered that he was born, raised and went to college in east Texas. Small world that we live in.

Sorry I can't quite let ya'll forget yet. Although I do like rockabilly and psychedelia, 70's rock was the best of the genre. Unplugged Eagles... enjoy it. Oh how sweet it was. Now, set back take a few tokes, pour yourself a shot of good bourbon, and just listen.
