Time are tough for providers and hobbyists.

I've seen an uptick in provider comments stating that business is slow. There are always hobbyists noting that they feel prices are too high.

It's time for a win win!

Providers, lower your rates a few dollars and watch the business pick up!

Hobbyist, commit to seeing providers who have adjusted their rates!

My business has been great for the last few weeks.

Some providers, in my opinion, need to look at themselves, physically and business wise. There are hobbyists who will not spend more than X $$$ regardless of the potential experience.

Some providers are not always looking at their business model. YES, it is a business. Is our PM box full? Do you return calls promptly? Do you have accurate info in your showcase? Do you ever NCNS? (Rarely is there a time where you can't call a hobbyist to cancel.) Are you outcall only? Do you try to attend 'social' events to promote yourself?
You're running a business and we hear about issues in the ROS that are not always complimentary and a hobbyist will choose someone else.
Sorry if I seem blunt, but you asked.
Supply and demand are in play here.

Not pricing for me . . . it's the inability to prove to this world how wonderful I think I am. For arguments sake, say there are 50 latinas that catch my eye. 48 think I could be a cop, psycho, or some other form of sludge. So two remain. But maybe they don't offer DatyOal. So, now I'm left with nada. Now I can't blame the women for wanting to be safe. Which puts the blame on me and my narrow focus. Fuck . . . aren't hobbies supposed to reduce stress . . . . .

The girls who provide so so service for your rates and higher, I'm sure have lots of free time to watch TV and eat more junk food and French fries. We've been seeing a lot of new girls come on the scene with crazy rates and that's caused an upturn in rates overall - problem is those girls with the crazy rates are soon gone!

Any provider, in this market, with a rate over $250 has got to look outstanding, have perfect TCB skills and be unforgettable in the sack! Otherwise, lack of demand will see her sacked, or desperate rate reductions to attempt to jump start a following!

Discussions of price seem to be perennial here, particularly in the Men’s Lounge where there’s constant shock and horror when a handful of new providers and visitors turn up demanding higher prices than established ones with a reputation for excellent service.

As customers, we vote with our feet – that’s simple enough. We pay for what we’re willing for a provider that we “like” and that liking is based on highly individualized tastes: whether a client wants a Barbie doll or a BBW, a young or mature provider, QV or GFE or PSE, and so on. There’s enough supply here in SA that it’s usually possible to find what you want at a price you can afford – unless your demands are out of whack and you want a goddess for a dime and bitch about it until you get banned (not naming names, but I think you know).

OTOH, I do wonder if the established providers feel offended or unappreciated when lower quality providers with no track record demand (and sometimes get) better pay for lesser work … or maybe they laugh it off, saying to themselves “that girl won’t last a month.” I have a sense it’s the latter, and from what I’ve seen they tend to be right. The upstarts with more ego than sense price themselves out of the market, get a few clients who want to be the first to drive the newest model, and then go back to the usual providers.

Pricing is all about supply and demand – you can charge $200 and get fourteen clients a week ($2800/wk), $300 and get only ten ($3,000/wk), or $400 and get only five ($2,000/wk) and from that you can see where the sweet spot is, where you make the best weekly income given price and volume.

Granted, those numbers are totally made up because while I can see the prices, I don’t know what volume providers get at each price point. But from what I’ve seen, Optimator’s suggestion of $250 is about right – because most of the quality/established providers seem to price themselves at $250/$300 and the fact that they’ve been around for years (and probably will be for years more) suggests that is a sustainable point on the demand curve.

I also have the sense that new/visiting providers can charge a higher price for the novelty effect – customers will pay a little more for something new and different - but they’ll need to lower their price when the novelty wears off to get the volume they need to sustain a business. Or they can start at a low price and increase when they build a clientele. Those are both valid marketing strategies used for introducing a new brand to an established market.

Anyway, I’ve babbled a while – forgive me, I’ve an obvious nerdy fascination with economics - but I hope that some of this will make the behavior of suppliers and consumers in this market a little less cryptic and upsetting. The short of it is that providers who overprice are generally short-lived, and those who price right sustain, even through slow periods in the market.

No need to complain about it – in due time, the invisible hands of the market place will reward those who play in smart and bitch-slap those who don’t.

$200 is $3.33 per minute

Do you provide that level of service?

I try not to dick-tate rates to ladies. Even those who ask my counsel...

My usual response is "make your donations competitive but not out of sight. If you feel compelled to offer some sort of special, add 30 minutes to your one hour session. Most guys can barely last an hour much less 90 minutes. And, grandfather constant clients' rates or give them the additional time.

"Additionally, market, market, market.

"Participate in the forums, attend the events, advertise in distant city forums to attract visitors and maintain a private em/pm list to communicate with clients who are ok with that."

Just my opinion, of course, but I have been around a month or two. So hang in there.
This topic has been hot lately. I think there are plenty of ladies in SA with outstanding prices who provide a great experience reading reviews. Making it affordable for any hobbyists pocket book. I think marketing for the ladies plays a big role and really work ethic. The more time you put in. The more benefit you reap. It's simple. The same can be said for a hobbyist. Those that work harder and have more disposable income. Can afford to pay the higher prices ladies.

The Win/Win could be guys making more money. To pay the ladies prices. Haha
OK, clients and girls are having a hard time. Just for completeness, don't forget the pimps... ;-))

I'm not sure why people still believe it's because their rates are high that business is slow. Some ladies here have the lowest rates of all and they are struggling to make ends meets. I, personally, have done super low rates and I've found that I have to deal with more idiots than if I have my rates where I'm comfortable with. I get the same ups and downs regardless of where my rate is. I rather only see 5 gents a week than 2-3 a day. So now my rate is where I'm comfortable and I have steady business (hence the lack of ads). And if anyone deserves the low rates it would be the regulars. Some of my regulars get amazing discounts because they've been seeing me for years. I rather give the discount to a client that deserves it instead of a client fishing for the cheapest provider he can bang. If rates really bother some of the hobbyists then maybe checking out the street ladies would be best for them?

If you can't shop at Sears go to Walmart...if you can't afford Walmart go to the flea market...
