contact protocol

This morning I received a "blast" text from a travelling provider that I saw once and was not overly impressed with. The text was basically an advertisement that she was in town. Does anyone else think that this is really inappropriate?. I have always been under the impression that initial contact should be from consumer to provider, not the other way around. Any thoughts are appreciated.

I have a long time friend that I'm ok with reaching out to me. Other than her, I initiate contact if it's via call or text. I'm also ok with the ladies reach out via the hobby boards.

The idea of an email or text blast isn't cool at all in my opinion. Hopefully she has your hobby information because I wouldn't think you gave her your real info.
