Hey. I'm brand new to Houston and just looking for cool stuff to do and places to go..... I was thinking since you all have this much open space, there has to be someplace to go ride quads..... Any and all input is appreciated.... Suggestions also welcome.

I believe there is a place up north in Huntsville called general Sam's and another place in Crosby off of I 10 . Hope that helps.

Not sure if there's a name to it but no, us Texans don't engage in the Ohioan past time of tossing bottles at freeway signs.
DownSouth in Crosby

Xtreme off road is mud/beach
Marble falls near Austin is beautiful. 5 stages of rock climbing and trails.
General SAMs has nice trails.

Crosby off of Old 90 just east of the SJ river bridge. I think there are a couple places to pay to park. They just had a big party there last weekend.
There's another entrance if you go in by the dirt track on 2100.
Both entrances get you into the area down by the river, under the new 90 bridge. There are plenty of mud holes, ponds sand bars back up in the woods, that sort of stuff.
Used to be a spot up off of E. Hardy that gave access to Spring Creek. There were some good trails there with gullys, deep mud holes and a really nice sand bar on both sides of the creek where shit would get wild about midnight on the weekends. With the 99 construction and the popo hassling people I'm not sure that one is still there.
Other than that there's still a big park up in Jacksonville. It's a drive. Best to take a tent or RV and go for the weekend.

Just make sure you have a TX OHV sticker on your ride when in state/public areas.
Park LEO and Game Wardens will give you a ticket if you don't have one. (Class C Parks and Wildlife misdemeanor)

Wish I could but don't ride 4 wheelers anymore. Just ride my motorcycle now, stay a lot cleaner that way .
