Texas Country Music Band Micky & The Motorcars are playing tonight Saturday 3/5 at the Executive Surf Club-Cover Charge is $8 Dollars. Micky & Gary Braun-Micky & The Motorcars are the the younger brothers of Willy & Cody Braun of Texas Country Music Band Reckless Kelly. I have seen Micky & The Motorcars perform/play at Brewster Street several times, I like their Music.
I went to Brewster Street Icehouse Thursday night & saw Texas Country Music Band Kimberly Dunn. Johnny Kiser was the Opening Band. Mario Flores & The Soda Creek Band from San Antonio was the second band. I missed seeing Johnny Kiser perform/play. Mario Flores & The Soda Creek Band were good, I liked their music. Kimberly Dunn is a young pretty petite Bonde Chica from San Antonio, she graduated from Texas A&M in 2011, she played Alto Sax in The Fightin' Texas Aggie Band. I liked her Music but her Sound Man running sound sucked hind tit. They had their own Sound/Mixing Board. The Music was way too loud with all boom & sizzle, their was no midrange clarity in the vocals & instruments, the highs were borderline strident. Brewster Street's Sound Man ran Sound for the the first two Bands, the sound was excellent with Mario Flores & The Soda Creek Band. Brewster Street's Sound man is a Dude in his 50's, the sound is always excellent/top notch when he runs sound. Kimberly Dunn's Sound Man remarked to Brewster Street's Sound Man after they had quit playing-man this is a hard venue to run sound in. I was standing right behind the the Sound Guys all night. After Kimberly Dunn's Sound man left, I expressed my opinion to the Brewster Street Sound Man that he is a much Better Sound Man than Kimberly Dunn's. He smiled & replied that Brewster Street a hard venue to run sound in if you have never run sound there before. Brewster Street's Sound Man is a cool dude, I have complimented him in the past about the Music/Sound always being excellent when he runs sound. He appreciated the compliment.
I went to House of Rock Friday night and saw one of my Favorite Texas Country Music/Rockabilly Bands Two Tons Of Steel. Local C.C. Band Buddy T y Los Chingons was the opening band. I missed seeing Buddy T y Los Chingons, I like the name of their band. They have played several times at House Of Rock as an opening band & I have not seen/heard them perform/play yet. Palomino Shakedown from Austin-Texas Country Music/Rockabilly was the second band. This was was my second time to see Palomino Shakedown perform/play at House Of Rock, I like their Music. Two Tons Of Steel from San Antonio was the Headliner. Two Tons Of Steel as usual put on an Excellent Show. I like Two Tons Of Steel's Music muy mucho.
Local Blues/Rock Band Ray T & The City Crew is playing tonight at the Black Monk Tavern-Saturday 3/5 10 PM-2 AM-No Cover. The Black Monk Tavern is located on Gollihar almost to Airline-down the road from King High School. The Black Monk Tavern is located where the Original Black Diamond Oyster Bar was. Later it was the Bair's Den. Ray Tijerina the lead guitar player/singer lives in Aransas Pass. I have seen Ray Tijerina play guitar/sing at JT Coldfire's Benefit at Theo's Billiards several months ago. Several times at the Open Jam at It'll Do Saloon on Thursday nights. And at a Benefit at It'll Do Saloon several weeks ago for Sonny Sanchez's Wife Becky who passed away from Cancer. Ray T is an excellent Guitar Player in my humble opinion. This will be my first time to see Ray T with his band-The City Crew.
I plan on going to see Micky & The Motorcars at the Surf Club & Ray T & The City Crew late night.
