Okay. So "resting" the guys didn't pay off last year. Fell to the 6th seed and the Clippers came in here and took 2 of the 3. SMDH...
I remember back in '99, the guys went 12-1 to close out the regular season and I still preach today to anyone who will listen that if Michael Jordan had remained in the league, the 99 Spurs would have beaten the 99 Bulls for the title.
In 2003: undefeated in April. In 2005: 13-1 to finish the year. In 2007: 6-4 in April but swept Cleveland in the finals. Had to wait another 6 years for a return trip to the Finals then blew a 3-2 lead over Miami. In 2014: 4-4 in April.
Last year on espn sports-talk-radio, one of the guys commented on how "focused" the Spurs were in 2014 after they blew that series to Miami and then says he didn;t see that same fire this year (which was last year). Now the best franchise record is on the line with the GS Warriors with home court advantage waiting in the wings.
Now, don;t get me wrong - I'm not a band-wagoner: season tickets since Dave Robinson was a rookie. Just grown tired of Pop. I would love to see Becky Hammond take over this team.
