Any yogis out there?

Started practicing yoga about 6 years ago and was definitely addicted when I lived in Austin . . . 5 or 6 days a week at BSY . . . kind of fell off when I moved to SA. A recent trip to the left coast made me realize what I've been missing.

Any style preferences: Hatha, Ashtanga, Kundalini aka KundaLOONY, Bikram (it's all sweaty to me), Power, others . . .

feel good asanas: Pigeon - Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (with forehead on mat)
Wheel - Urdhva Dhanurasana (maybe the best)
Corpse - Shavasana (because I need a break after an
hour)
Downward Doggy Style (Don't know the Sanskrit)

asanas for the ego (I know . . . leave the ego at home):

One legged arm balance - Eka Pada Koundinyasana II . . . not with textbook form though
Warrior III - Virabhadrasana III aka with textbook form . . . or so I've been told
Crane - Bakasana

Wish list: Eka Pada Koundinyasana I
Eight Angle Pose - Astavakrasana
Visvamitra

And many others . . . .

All on a Jade mat of course.
And here I thought we were finally going to talk about Yogi Bear.... Sad face.

I'm a practitioner as well among many other movement disciplines. Hand balancing is one of my personal favorites, I personally love a good QDR (elbow lever) and also working animal flow and yoga poses together. You know, I've always wondered if there are any ladies on here who would ever do a fun yoga session?

Advice from BKS Iyengar . . . one of the most respected yoga guys out there. If you're interested in the philosophy of yoga, "Light on Life: The Yoga Journey to Wholeness, Inner Peace, and Ultimate Freedom" is an excellent book written by Iyengar.

If your instructor is worth a shite, she will ask if anyone has any injuries. Just speak up, and again, if she is worth a shite, she will provide you with modifications to poses that may may make your injury worse. She may also incorporate some poses that may benefit your injuries (like some mentioned in the articles). Don't go trying any handstands!!!!! Good luck!!

Thank you! Don't have an instructor, bit was looking into starting at home on my own to ease the discomfort. Gets pretty bad sometimes.
KKA - I'm a trainer and have worked through tough rotator cuff issues and am now stronger with increased range of motion. You can definitely get a TON done at home without any fancy machines.
