I was just about to say Walmart has all the cheap throw away phones babe.
Metro pcs
U can gt a phn for cheap n unlimited talk txt and internet for 50monthly,no tax & no contract
You can put it in any name you want
Pretty much any brand that let's you buy and activate outright with cash. MetroPCS, Cricket, Boost, even the AT&T GoPhone line, T-Mobile prepaid box phones. You can get a phone for as little as $40 and most of them have unlimited calls and texts. Just depends on the network you want to be on if that even matters. Otherwise they're all pretty similar.

Or you could just use Burner app. No extra phone to deal with.
Would have recommended using a calling app but was under the assumption that the OP had a SO possibly snooping around on the phone or app list.

Yes, a calling app only works if you have full control over your phone. You could password it, but you would have to be able to explain its existence.
I've been happy with the Tracfone. Cost about $30 for a phone and first load of minutes. $20 every 90 days for more minutes than I ever use. All cash on my hobby email address.

Does the Strait Talk phone have minutes that expire?? Bc let's face it, messaging has become the communiqué of late, and I seldom actually call providers any more..
Best free text and call app is sideline

Burner is the only one I found that you can password protect. But calls and texts still come through unless you turn off notifications.

Sideline is cheap and works.

One possible explanation for the app is when you sign up for a website that wants a phone number.
