First thing you do: contact Dallas Rain & ask her where to stay & how to not have a hard time in NOLA as a working girl. She knows everything or knows who to tell you to ask.
Second, I wouldn't stay in Chalmette--that part I'm pretty sure she won't dispute. Seen plenty of girls in Metairie & Kenner when I lived there so get Dallas or one of the other local girls to help you w/suggestions for a good place.
Third, I'm groaning b/c I moved from NOLA last year--NOW I see you gon' to visit? LOVE your profile & pics. You don't ever visit Tidewater VA do you? Or anywhere closer to it than, well NOLA or Arkansas? You know the most desirable part of your profile? "Baking". I shit you not: oh yeah baby... that's right... slice me up them baguettes & banana bread & jalapeno cheese bread & gimme them tollhouse cookies! LOL I can cook but really can't bake: I'm 0/4 making biscuits recently. Just embarrassing... I need baking rescue.
I deserve a free muffuletta or something from you Nola guys. I brought this amazing young woman on a weekend trip to Nola and she loved it!! Y'all better treat her right when she tours your way. She is really quite something!! She does still owe me some home made chocolate chip cookies!! Oh Lolahhhhh
I'll eat them & they're good but they weren't my most-favoritest-thing about NOLA food so if you're happy to be bought off w/a muff or 1/2 muff from Central Grocery I'll pony up. Save the po-boys from Parkway for me.
If your friend ever visits me where I'm now I'm afraid the best I can offer is decent Caribbean hole-in-the-wall w/seating for 12, although I do love it b/c the fried sweet plantains & moros-y-cristados remind me of my time down there.
