Hmm, Rochester or Buffalo?

What city have you girls had a better experience in? Is there a city in between that you've had some success in? I don't want to end up somewhere in the middle of no where and have the trip be a waste of time lol. I'm thinking of taking a trip out that way in two weeks, does anyone have any advice on what hotels are good and where to stay away from? Is down town better or a more suburban area? I've never been out that way, and have had so many requests that I would love to finally make the trip, so any and all advice is appreciated!!
