Ok, I would like some input on a few GOOD thai restaurants here in houston, I've got a visitor from out of town, and she is tai and would like to go out for original thai cuisine. I don't have a clue, I'm fine with vietnamese and chinese, but not thai. And before some smartass like me says at the Y, iv'e already got that covered. Lol. Thanks. Seedman

what's the general location you're gonna be in... oh wait it's seed.. the guy who drives 40 miles for asian trim LMAO.

There's
Nidda Thai restaurant on Westheimer... http://www.niddathai.com/
Thai Gourmet on Richmond... http://www.thaigourmethouston.com/

Those are the two I've had the best Thai food.. but then I usually just get the white curry and/or Padthai... dunno what's really "authentic"

I had a family member that lived in Hong Kong and "worked" in China for many many years. When stateside, if he wanted to treat his family and friends to "authentic" Chinese he would find a locally owned Mom and Pop type restaurant and visit them a day or at least a few hours in advance and tell them what he expected. He always had good luck with that approach.
Most any ethnic restaurant is going to be Americanized. So if you go in expecting authentic you are more than likely going to be disappointed.

Vieng Thai in Spring. I guess it depends on what GOOD means to you, it's a hole in the wall kinda place, service depends on well whatever the mood of the day is, this can be massively YMMV (it's a Thai place after all). If it's just about the food, it will work. If it's the full experience of taking a woman out, uhhhh... Just be willing to speak up there.

Thai Gourmet has been mentioned to me as good traditional Thai food too, but I wouldn't know either way.
