Im getting ready to do a small tour around Texas and San Antonio will be my first stop. This will be my first tour since I dont have much available time for travel, but Ive had many request from all over the state and I love making new friends in different places. Ive never been to your city so I dont know much about it. Hoping I can get a few answers here. If all goes well, SA is close enough to where I might be able to make it there monthly.
Im trying to decide where to stay.
What area of town is safe and convenient for most? Preferably somewhere with minimal traffic.
Any 'must try' restaurants?
Areas to avoid?

Im looking for something around a not so busy area.....and the only three listed on the sticky were medical center, airport, and downtown....all of the places I try to avoid.

Suggest then highway 281 and loop 1604 then
