account disabled??

A very active and popular member went missing recently and shows up now as guest,account disabled, with all of his posts and reviews still showing, what is the difference between that status verses banned?

Disabled/guested is asked for by the member, for various reasons.
Banned... MODS incur that, for various reasons.
