Any hobbyists use Tinder?

Just curious.

A couple of my friends (who are not into the hobby at all) have had good success with Tinder (at least that is what they tell me). Hook ups, casual encounters, legit dates.

But I haven't had as much luck with it. Which is probably why I just stick with the hobby. Easier and more straightforward. Of course it is more expensive, but at least you usually know exactly what you are getting. But that does take some of the fun out of it, especially when your session is boring, rushed, or very mechanical.

But sometimes it is fun to play the game on Tinder (it is really just a game, isn't it?) . Check out cute girls' pictures at the bare minimum but potential for a whole lot more if you're good and/or lucky.

It is funny that Tinder is marketed as a 'hook up' app (at least it used to be) but 90% of the girls on there specify in their profile that they are not interested in hook ups. Or are they just being coy?

Anyway just wondering what you guys (and gals please chime in as well) think of dating / hookup apps... or if you just stick with the tried and true eccie pages?

Any Tinder tips? is the Tinder Plus worth paying for? Somehow I think your profile gets more visibility if you pay for it (even though they don't list that as one of the advantages)

(not sure if this is in the right forum?)

It's surprised me that no one has responded to this. I've been asked to join Tinder by hobbyists, but don't want to filter through dudes that want a free hookup. I'm not sure how I would approach the topic of "donations" on a public dating app. Seems like I would immediately piss off horny dudes who don't want to pay and then get banned.

But maybe I should try it? I wish some hobbyists would chime in here.

Sounds like a big investment in time. Which might be ok if you're looking to develop a SB or UTR/ATF. But perhaps if ladies posted as a more traditional escort things might develop into something more.

Example: Perky might state that she's available as "arm candy" for special events. "I'll drive the folks at your class reunion crazy!" "Let me be the hostess at your business event." "Add me to pictures of the car your selling and I'll drive customers to you." - You get the idea.

Prior to joining "The Hobby", when I became single, I wanted to learn how to tango. On a "traditional" dating site I found a lady that also wished to do that. We met weekly with nothing else going on. Class, practice and coffee afterward.

HOWEVER, about 7 weeks into our lessons we got a new instructor. She was Hotter than a $2 gun. 3 weeks after she gave me "praise" and asked (privately) about private lessons. From then on we were doing the dance of the sheets.

Eventually the lessons ended and she moved out of town. Also lost my regular dance partner but it was all good.

If you have the time and patience to "get your foot in the door" perhaps you'll eventually get your dick in something else.

Not wasting my time with Tinder. I hear plentyofish is good.
Or bumble
Thanks for the replies! I think I've tried most of the popular dating apps/websites with minimal success. Made some friends, gone on some dates, but no hookups and no long term relationships (so far).

I think I got to the point where I didn't really care anymore and just wanted something direct and straightforward... so that's why I am here, I guess.

If you are looking for a more meaningful relationship then of course you will have to invest the time.

If you just want to hookup with someone hot then Tinder is probably a waste of time. ECCIE is just much simpler.

I can't imagine us hobbyists would have luck with tinder. You have to be in your 20s and good looking to pick up girls there, unless your standards are low.
I was on Tinder, once. Those were dark times. Most of the people I met for dates did not proceed beyond the restaurant or bar we met at. I encountered a lot of humans that were either not who they said they were, or very creepy. I had a few positive experiences, but they were very few and far between. Back in the day I had better luck with OkCupid but I am not sure if that's even a thing anymore...I pretty much stopped online dating all together once I picked up the hobby again. I prefer adventurous people that are up
to trying new things and most of the people I met were very, very vanilla. That isn't to say that you won't have a positive experience with either, though
Elizabeth, I cannot tell you how many times I've heard similar stories from providers who try the dating scene. The sex is better in the hobby, better men, higher quality of discourse, etc., but the stories are similar.
