Can the Royals do it?

I don't know about you, but I really thought the Royals had a chance to pull it out last night and make it 10 in a row. What's the consensus? Who thinks we can make it to a wildcard spot?

Nice pic! And I love the belief. If they want to make it, then they need to win 20 games this month (end August with 69 wins, hey oh!). If they can win Thurs and take 2 of 3 from Boston then that tells me they can do it.

Last night we were facing a pitcher that is 27-2 at Marlins park. The Royals can make it to a wild card slot, but it will be tough. I agree with D&H.

There's only 36 games left and they're 5 games out for the division and 3 games out for WC
Can they get a WC spot?
Toronto, Baltimore, Detroit & Seattle all are ahead in WC counts. So most of those teams need unexpected losses in addition to KC kicking ass on everybody next few weeks.
I think the upcoming Detroit games will be key.
Regardless, KC probably needs to take over 60% of their remaining games. And that's a very tough sell.

But, there's always something to change expectations, and a gal wearing a ball cap that matches....

As of this morning the Royals now need to probably win about 63% of their remaining games.
And the Yankees have been added to the other teams ahead of the Royals for the 2nd WC.

The Yankees series this week is critical, in addition to the Detroit series next weekend.
